Home-Start Fundraiser Opera Night

On behalf of all in the National Office, can we express our warmest gratitute to all involved in organising such a wonderful fundraising event in St Brigid’s Church of Ireland, Castleknock on St Valentine’s weekend.

The night was an enormous success raising more than €8000 towards the great work of Home-Start in the community

Incontestable value of early years intervention confirmed once more in UK report

Underpinning the life-enhancing and cost-effective work that Home-Start performs, the author of a recent UK report on early years intervention, Graham Allen MP, says that "socially and emotionally capable people are more productive, better educated, tax-paying citizens helping our nation to compete in the global economy, and make fewer demands on public expenditure”.

Young families being hit by the recession

The impact of the recession is being felt worst by families with young children and high mortgages or those in rental accommodation.  This is one of the gravest social problems now facing the country and one which will only escalate if early intervention is not provided.
